Easter Saturday and the weather forecast was poor and Church beyond Church on the North York Moors seemed a little foolhardy.
Still eight intrepid walkers and Loue the dog set off from East Hull We travelled through sudden bursts of hail and snow and howling wind but when we reached Lastingham the sun was out and the sky blue.

It was decided to walk to Ana Cross, a steady uphill climb and see how we were all faring. It was quite a struggle against the wind but we stopped at intervals to savour the beauty of the countryside and to share in the reading of a psalm.
At the top the weather was still good and we decided to complete the walk, making for Abraham’s Stone
